We're sharing a quick and clear guide to help you create your business or startup's Facebook page. This process is done from your personal account, requires no technical knowledge, and is the first step toward having a professional social media presence.
1. Enter the page builder
Access the fanpage creator directly from this link:
https://www.facebook.com/pages/create
2. Choose the page type
Select the "Business or Brand" option, ideal for companies, professionals, and businesses.
3. Complete the basic information
Facebook will ask you for the following information:
- Page Name: Your business or brand name.
- Category: Write what best describes your business (e.g., "Clothing Store," "Restaurant," "Architecture Studio").
- Address and phone number: optional but recommended if you have a physical location or direct customer service.
4. Upload images
This step is optional if you're working with our agency, as we'll take care of the images later.
You can load in this step:
- Profile picture: We recommend using your brand logo.
- Cover image: a representative image of your services or institutional graphic design.
5. Create the page
Once you've completed all of the above, click "Create Page." From this point on, your fan page will be online and ready to be managed.
Assign an administrator
If you need someone else to manage the Page (such as our agency or a collaborator on your team), you can grant permissions by following these steps:
- Log in to your account.
- Click on "Settings" (gear icon).
- Find and select the "Page Roles" option.
- Enter the name or email of the person you want to assign a role to.
- Select the "Administrator" role and save the changes.
The administrator role allows that person to post, reply to messages, create ad campaigns, and configure advanced Page settings.
Topics to consider when completing your fan page
Below, we share some elements we recommend reviewing and completing once your page is created to improve its visibility and provide a better experience for your audience:
- Description: brief summary of your activity.
- Website link: If you have a website or landing page, add it.
- Opening hours: essential if you offer services at defined times.
- Main button (CTA): choose between "Send message", "Call", "Book", etc.
- Location: Useful if you work with attention in a specific location or geographic area.
- Featured Services and Products: You can add items to display directly.
- Custom username: (Example: facebook.com/mybusiness). This can be configured later.
Completing all this information improves your brand image, increases public trust, and helps you rank higher in Facebook searches.
